LIVING BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. (Part 9).

1 Corinthians 2. Verses 9-10 read:

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, Neither have entered into the heart of man, The things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Yesterday, we said that the Holy Spirit is the helper of human infirmities. If men permit, the Holy Spirit will express his strength through human vessels to reveal the greatness of God. The infirmity considered yesterday was man’s inability to pray as he ought. Specific limitations mentioned are the lack of knowledge about what to pray about and even how to pray. However, the Holy Spirit is available to help men pray according to the will of God. Today, we want to consider another kind of help provided by the Holy Spirit, that is, the revealing of the mysteries of God to men. Deuteronomy 29 verse 29 says:

The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

It is God’s will that men will do or live by all the words of the Iaw. God is the custodian of all information relevant for meaningful and impactful living. The information that is exclusive to him is known as mysteries. When mysteries move out of his purview into the domain of men through the agency of the Holy Spirit, it becomes revelation. It is God’s will that revelation will define the walk of men. The truth is that real success in life is contingent on the measure of revelation a man walks in.

In today’s text, Apostle Paul refers to mysteries as things eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, and hearts have not perceived. Our God is the custodian of inexhaustible mysteries for individuals, institutions, communities, and nations. These mysteries are in respect of things that God has prepared for those who love him. Lovers of God are men who are always drawn to God based on their strong affection for him. Their closeness to God positions them to receive the mysteries of God in their due season. At this point, the eyes of men begin to see visions, their ears begin to hear words that set their minds aright, while hearts perceive God’s plans and produce the right heart disposition for what God has in store.

The Holy Spirit is the one whom God had mandated to take his mysteries and make them revelations for men to walk in. Scripture says that the Holy Spirit searches the deep things of God and reveals them to men whose hearts long for God. Beloved, it takes solid acquaintance and deep fellowship with the Holy Spirit to walk in the revelation of God.
