Verses 10 &#8211; 12 read:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the LORD God is a sun and shield: The LORD will give grace and glory: No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, Blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The divine encounters of the sons of Korah as temple attendants gave them some uncommon perspectives of God and his presence. This inspired in them a deep reverence for God, which reflected in their dedication to God. From today&#8217;s text, the sons of Korah came to the conclusion that a single day in God&#8217;s court, which refers to God&#8217;s presence, is better than a thousand days elsewhere. Beloved, God&#8217;s presence is matchless, and absolutely nothing compares to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sons of Korah also declared that they would prefer to be doorkeepers in God&#8217;s house than to dwell in the tent of the wicked. Their emphasis was more on where they dwell and not on the role they played there. God&#8217;s presence is the ultimate, and that is what we must crave for. The tent of the wicked describes the place of the reign of evil. It is the place of the absence of God, and the believer must reject any invitations to go that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sons of Korah then moved on to indicate the reason for the premium they placed on God&#8217;s presence as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Lord was their light and shield. As light, God illuminated their lives to dispel darkness and expose hidden things. As long as God was with them, darkness had no place around them. As their shield, God covered them from the advances of the swords of evil, which manifest as fear, discouragement, frustration, and the like.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Lord bestows grace and glory on those who seek him. Grace enables us to reach out for God&#8217;s ordination for our lives, whilst glory makes us reflect God. They are a must-have pair.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Lord does not hold back any good thing from us. This is a confirmation of the assurance that goodness and mercy shall follow us or attend to us all the days of our lives.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>As we bring this series to a close, we want to remember the words of Jesus about man&#8217;s quest for God and the blessings he derives from it as captured in Matthew 6 verse 33 as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When our quest is for God and his standards, our well-being and sustenance become God&#8217;s responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SHALOM \ud83d\ude4f\ud83d\ude4f\ud83d\ude4f\ud83d\ude4f\ud83d\ude4f\ud83d\ude4f\ud83d\ude4f<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE QUEST FOR GOD (Part 20).
